Terms of use

Draft for owner and legal review. Effective date to be set when the service opens.

The service

Goldstream Payroll, a service of Prolite Accounting, a subsidiary of Magnet Financial Services, helps prepare payroll calculations and CRA filing files. Goldstream Payroll — Precision payroll. Unified control. By signing in you agree to use it only for companies you are authorized to act for.

Your responsibility

You remain responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for reviewing results before relying on them, and for filing and remitting to CRA and other authorities on time. The application does not file on your behalf. Keep your sign-in and two-factor device to yourself, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.

Fees

The price is per company, per month, before sales tax: $49.00 for up to 5 employees, and $79.00 for 6 to 10 employees. Above 10 employees, and for accounting firms, the price is the one in your written quote. Only sales tax is added. Fees are billed monthly in advance and are not refunded for part of a month. We give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change takes effect.

Service levels

Support answers by phone and email, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time, except statutory holidays. We aim to keep the service available at all times and to schedule maintenance outside business hours with notice, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Plan your payroll so that a short outage does not make you late: approve runs and remittances ahead of their due dates.

Liability

If the service calculates an amount wrongly from correct information you entered, we fix the software and help you correct the affected pay, remittances and slips at no charge. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the affected company in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the service

You can cancel at any time; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid. We may suspend access after 30 days' notice if fees are unpaid, or at once to stop misuse or protect the service. After the service ends, you can still sign in to view and export your records for 90 days; how we keep them after that is described on the privacy page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts of Ontario.

Changes to these terms

We give at least 30 days' notice by email before a change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.
